A Fateful Harrow Spread
In the world of Golorian the Harrow Deck is used as a fortune telling instrument. Marcus used his Harrow Deck to grant him bonuses to certain skills once per day.
This is just one of the many Harrow Spreads that a fortune teller can use to read an individual’s past, or predict their future. In this particular case Marcus chose to do the spread known as The Cross. Each card that is turned over, whether misaligned or not has a significant meaning.
While the meaning of these cards might not be known for a very long time, something about this particular reading really stuck out to Marcus.
- Self – The Avalanche: This card represents disaster. An unthinking, unreasoning force that overruns all who get in its way.
- Beginnings – The Lost: This card represents emptiness and a loss of identity.
- Past – The Theater: This is the card of true prophecy. The puppets act out a scene, just as the prophet acts out a scene in which he has no part.
- Talent – The Courtesan: This card represents political intrigue. The mask embodies the social niceties that must be followed. If it slips, negotiations can take an unexpected turn.
- Future – The Cyclone: This is a force that tears through whatever it meets. This disaster does not come in the course of natural order but is one that comes from the plots of intelligent beings.
